🇭🇺 Hungarian Cottage Cheese Dumplings (Túrógombóc)
Ingredients:
- 500g (about 1 lb) dry curd cottage cheese or farmer’s cheese (drained if needed)
- 2 large eggs
- 100g (about 1/2 cup) semolina (gríz)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional but traditional)
For coating:
- 3–4 tbsp butter
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2–3 tbsp sugar (to taste)
To serve:
- Sour cream (optional but common)
- Powdered sugar
