Light dumplings made with cottage cheese, boiled and rolled in toasted breadcrumbs, served with sour cream and powdered sugar.
🥣 8. Aranygaluska (Golden Dumplings)
Soft, pull-apart yeast dough balls rolled in ground walnuts and sugar, baked and served warm with vanilla custard sauce. A cousin to monkey bread — but better!
🍫 9. Zserbó Szelet (Gerbeaud Cake)
Layers of pastry filled with apricot jam and ground walnuts, topped with chocolate glaze. Created by the famous Café Gerbeaud in Budapest — rich and refined.
🍩 10. Fánk (Hungarian Doughnuts)
Fluffy, pillowy doughnuts often flavored with rum or lemon zest and topped with powdered sugar. Traditionally eaten during Carnival season (Farsang).
