1. Cook the noodles:
- Boil noodles in salted water until al dente.
- Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
2. Prepare the filling:
- In a large bowl, mix:
- Cottage cheese
- Egg yolks
- Sugar
- Vanilla
- Lemon zest
- Raisins (if using)
3. Whip the egg whites:
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold them into the cheese mixture.
4. Combine:
- Mix the cooled noodles with the cheese filling.
- Fold gently until well combined.
5. Assemble & bake:
- Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
- Grease a medium baking dish with butter.
- Pour the noodle-cheese mixture into the dish and smooth the top.
- Spoon the sour cream evenly over the surface.
6. Bake:
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown on top and slightly set.

Let cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature, with extra sour cream or a dusting of powdered sugar. It’s also delicious cold the next day!
